Updated 4 days ago by James Dunn

To add Google SSO to your SmartFile account:

  On Google Workspace Console:

  1. Go to your Google Workspace Admin portal.
  2. On the left, select Apps
  3. Select Web and mobile apps
  4. Click on Add app
  5. Click on Add custom SAML app
  6. Set App name to "SmartFile" then click Continue
  7. Click on Download metadata then click Continue
  8. In the field ACS URL put your entity id https:// + '/saml2/acs/'
  9. In the field Entity ID put your custom domain selected for your site. DO NOT INCLUDE https://
  10. In the field Start URL put your https:// + entity id + '/ftp/login/'
  11. Click Continue
  12. Click Finish
  13. Provide the saved XML file to support to be installed on your site.

    On SmartFile:

  1. Sign into your SmartFile account.
  2. For each user assigned to Google sign in, create a user with their username and email being the email used in Google and the sign on method set to “SSO”.
  3. When you go to your site’s sign in page, there should now be a Single Sign-On button. Users will click on this button and be signed into SmartFile through Google to their given account.
If a user receives an error: 'The account does not exist', ensure that the user’s email address is set as both the SmartFile user’s username and email.
